The Accounting Web Black Hole

Warning: the Hole seems particularly active today

Didn't find your answer?

Search AccountingWEB

This is Aweb's version of the Bermuda Triangle. What I thought were perfectly reasonable comments have disappeared without trace today. It's happened to me, it's happened to Justin; it may well have happened to others (chances are I wouldn't know!)

This is my bid to see if a whole thread can disappear....

It happened to me last week, they appear eventually once your naughty comment has been approved and by then the thread makes no sense.

The upside of not being able to post is you get loads of work done!

It has allowed you to post this question though?

I had something similar to this a couple of weeks ago. I tried to edit before posting to correct a couple of typos, clicked on 'post reply' but was then was locked out of replying to posts, but strangely I could create new Qs. Went on for days, with my original response finally popping up about 6 days later.

Similar?

Or has the whole post disappeared? The latter happens when the OP closes their account, or sometimes when a poster is banned.

Same here - their over-enthusiastic spam filter had blocked my account.

Similar.

It's not unknown for me to post something, read it back, think "even I don't know what I mean" and edit it immediately. But this was just a basic typo correction.

I think, if a post goes over the event horizon, it ought to start looking something like

Posts do disappear, particularly when you criticise a sponsor!

Annoying when a long post is deleted, so you have to start again.

I have now created a Word file where longer AWeb posts are drafted, just in case they are erased.

Saves fathoms of time when it goes wrong.

Problem seems to start around 12 noon methinks.

Well, in Northern climes the sun is over the yardarm circa 11.00 a.m. so problems do possibly develop from 12.00 noon onwards.

They probably didn't mention "advisory/compliance is dead" enough or say how great Xero is.
