The Pension Regulator Agent Account

The Pension Regulator Agent Account

Didn't find your answer?

Hi Guys,

I am in the process of trying to set up my agent account so I can manage my clients for whom I will be processing the auto - enrollment pension. After speaking with TPR, they informed me that I can add it as a service to my existing HMRC agent portal where I already have SA, VAT, PAYE,CT etc. However I cannot see it as a service to be added. Only thing I can see is Machine Games Duty and Stamp taxes for Solicitors.

Anyone else have this issue?

After speaking with HMRC Online, they advised to register separately on the TPR site by requesting a new Government Gateway ID etc.

What is the best way?

Thanks guys.

Yes if I recollect correctly I registered on the TPR website.

However, I found a very strange anomaly after doing this. A short time after I found I could no longer log in to my other HMRC services using the usual ID. I tried using the new ID issued by TPR and that worked, so somehow they changed me over to the new ID!

Add it via the Government Gateway (if I recall correctly)

You recall correctly - unless of course HMRC have changed the goalposts again without telling anyone!

so just to confirm you all requested a new government gateway id for it and did not use your existing one?

I used an existing one.

I have two Gateway accounts though. I'm sure that I originally set it up using one of these (even made a note to myself about which one used) however after a few weeks could only access it using the other!

Didn't need to request a new Gateway ID at all.

I used a new one. It was the line of least resistance.

Don't think it matters really - except it's one more number to remember.
