Didn't find your answer?

Not so much a question as a request to the site engineers. It's not so much of a problem on the PC, but when using my phone or tablet it's a real pain when looking at long threads. It takes enough time as it is to scroll to the end, and is virtually impossible to find a recent response to an earlier comment in the thread. Is it not possible to provide a function to allow the user to immediately jump to the end of the thread or to the most recent comment? It is a rhetorical question, as I've seen it on other sites.

Funnily enough, in the olden days before the super-duper site upgrade, comments were displayed with the most recent at the top. Far more intuitive and practical.

It might be a false memory, but I think there were a lot of complaints at the time and a return to the old display order was on a list for future enhancements.

Yes there were complaints a plenty.

Even if keep same posting order (though I do not remember posts previously in reverse order, but then again I struggle remembering even the previous weekend) control buttons at the top of threads would be so much simpler.

As an example the recent one on Brexit, that I think ran to page 3 ,was a right pain to get to the end, having I think over 130 posts.

You only contributed circa 5-10% of the posts to that thread, it is when you make over 50% of the posts that apologies are in order (And there are a few shorter threads where I have been responsible for over 50% of the posts)

Only if it's meaningless drivel, which Andy's comments never are. I'm not sure you or I step so easily out of the frame! :)

Mastery of meaningless drivel has taken years for me to perfect.

Edit:- Just to be clear this post is an ironic post being firmly populated with meaningless drivel.

Tom, can threads also be highlighted that have had replies since the last visit? Used to be a feature of the old site.
