UK employee for non-UK employer

Think it's just a DPNI scheme but just want to check

Didn't find your answer?

Hi all,

Employer (non UK) wants to pay a UK employee, they are an EC based company with no UK presence. I believe that only a DPNI scheme is needed as the EC Regulation 883/2004 has been withdrawn meaning that the employer doesn't need to make secondary contributions anymore, is that correct?

Also, presume that a pension scheme will need to be put in place for automatic enrolment as per usual?

Thanks.

Must admit, I didn't have a read of this thoroughly https://www.gov.uk/eu-withdrawal-act-2018-statutory-instruments/the-soci... I had just made that assumption.

You will need to assess if the employee is considered to be working or ordinarily working in the UK according to the Pension Regulator's guidance.

I'm happy with that being the case, just wasn't sure if maybe there was some unknown factor to consider.

The Employer's helpline is absolutely useless to try and get this scheme up and running. The first person I spoke to said the employer wouldn't be subject to NI which I was concerned about considering the responses here. The next person hung up on me after hearing my query, and now I've just been on hold for 15 minutes before being told the lines are busy and cut off. This doesn't take in to account the other calls I've tried in between which just cut off right from the start. What a nightmare.
