Urgent help required FHL error on tax return

Tax return validation error

Didn't find your answer?

Just completed a furnished holiday let TR and I'm getting the following error

If there is an occurrence of [PRO5-19] without box 18 on page UKP 1 of form SA105, then box 20.2 on page UKP 2 of form SA105 and the box 5.2 on page UKP 1 of form SA105 from that occurrence must either both be submitted or both be absent.

I take that to mean that if a client has both FHL and normal property let then accrual must be on both or cash basis on both.  Only problem is that he only has FHL and that is all that is on tax return.  I'm using taxfiler if that makes any difference.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Sorry I am not familiar with the FHL pages but have you emailed Taxfiler?

Otherwise just try ticking and unticking boxes or, if desperate, put it on HMRC online and try and replicate it (or submit from there).

I don't use Taxfiler but have put in info in Digita and 5.2 and 20.2 both need to be left blank or both need to be crossed, even if there is just one single property (i.e. the rest of UK P2 will be blank)...try that and see if it works.

Digita has a separate heading for UK property claims and reliefs, so Taxfiler may have something similar.

Assume this is a UK FHL is box 18 is blank?

I never had an issue last year but I have created another property page and put 0 properties and left everything blank it's allowed me to file, so thank you for your suggestion, it is greatly appreciated. Will get on to taxfiler in the morning and find out whats caused the problem.

I had this same problem with Taxfiler. In the dropdown box I had the country of the FHL being "UK", but removing this and leaving the country blank seemed to fix the issue!

If it results in a late submission, it qualifies as a reasonable excuse, if that brings any comfort.
