VAT liability calculation for Ecommerce sales

Didn't find your answer?

I have an online retailer with branded eBay and Woocommerce stores. We use Paypal and Stripe for payments and sell worldwide.

Currently, we are using Quickbooks which is okay, apart from the the Paypal/Stripe integration - we/our bookkeeper has to manually input our VAT liability for each transaction from the UK/EU and there is no way to auto update VAT liability if a transaction is refunded/partially refunded etc later down the line. It seems there is no way to identify the customer origin to automatically calculate VAT liability.

Our accountant is keen for us to move to Xero, which I am willing to try, however we really need a dynamic solution to managing VAT liability on sales to save some admin. Does anyone have any tips or software solutions that could help?

Any advice much appreciated!

Hey,

I would highly recommend moving to Xero and looking into integration with Expandly
