VAT MOSS and Standard VAT Question

need advice please on VAT Moss and standard VAT threshold registration

Didn't find your answer?

Hi, I sell digital content worldwide via mostly US based 3rd party websites/platforms.
According to the HMRC website I am exempt from having to pay VAT on digital content sales if I sell via 3rd party platforms.
Therefore, it appears that I do not have to register for VAT using the VAT Moss.

However, my question is, what happens if I am one day successful enough to earn £85,000 per year?
Will I have to register for normal VAT?
If so, will I still be exempt from paying VAT?
I have hardly any expenses, so would not be able to claim anything back.

I never receive customer details or locations as I get paid out via the US based 3rd party web platforms.

Any advice would be appreciated for future knowledge and preparation

You'll speak with your accountant about the issues well before you reach that earnings amount.
