VAT on Fuel (Petrol, Diesel) Receipts

VAT on Fuel (Petrol, Diesel) Receipts

Didn't find your answer?

Fuel (Petrol, Diesel) Receipts issued by Shell, BP or other fuel stations clearly state that "This is not a VAT receipt".

Please, can anyone guide me how to claim VAT on these receipts because VAT number is also shown on them?

or I need to request proper VAT invoice. Sometime the amount is lower than £25.

Please Help.

Thanks in Advance

You need to request a VAT receipt from the cashier

If you are relying on solely the receipt for the payment (i.e. debit card or credit card via the PDQ roll) this will be insufficient. (Additionally ensure that pay-at-pump services are avoided so that you can actually speak to a real person if say the receipt does not provide the adequate information, or if the roll has run out of paper).

ask

When you go to pay, you have to ask for a separate vat receipt from the teller.
