Our company is registered for VAT (and at company's house) in our limited name which consist of INITIALS+ SURNAME+LTD. Recently our MD has started using a slighlty different name (which consist of THE+SURNAME (same surname)+ GROUP) and I am getting more and more supply invoices in this new name. The point I am trying to put across is that as we are registered for VAT purposes in our Limited name we can't reclaim VAT under a different name ... but am I correct? I would just like to be sure before I quick a fuss :).
For info, none of our stationery mentions Trading as....actually our letterhead only shows the SURNAME as the company name, nowhere does it show our registered Ltd name (but our sales invoices do show the limited registered name).
