VAT treatment for really old books and manuscripts

Manuscripts, old rare books

Didn't find your answer?

I have a client that sells manuscripts and really old books for substantial sums of money. We're talking bibles that are a million years old. He's getting close to the VAT threshold.

What do you reckon? Zero rated sales?

Antique books are specifically zero rated according to the VAT notice. What am I missing?

The bit before "and really old books". Although how do you miss something that you yourself wrote?
