Vatable item or not ?

Freshly squeezed oranges through a machine - now a juice so vatable ?

Didn't find your answer?

Hello,

I have a client who sells freshly squeezed orange juice direct from the fruit through a machine with nothing added. Does this now come under the decription of a fruit juice and become a vatable item even if direct from the fruit which would be zero ?

Thoughts and guidance apprecited, many thanks.

At the risk of stating the obvious, all fruit juices come from fruits.

Just because this has been done more immediately doesn't change the VAT liability.

Hey

Oranges are zero-rated and orange fruit juices are standard rated.

i know its weird but that is VAT. There are other wider discrepancies surrounding VAT on foods......

that is the way it is.
