Didn't find your answer?

I have this website vatforum.co.uk which I created a couple of years ago – which is a question and answer forum. It has generated a lot of organic traffic and business leads. Due to my work situation and time commitment, I do not have time for the forum. I’m looking for someone interested in the forum and passionate about VAT to take over the site.

The only cost to the website is about £100 for website hosting and domain renewal every year payable to the website hosting company and you are free to move the forum if you find cheaper options.

I will accept just £500 to cover the website hosting for the period I have held it. if interested, pm me.

Didn’t you try to sell this around a year back ? I would have thought you worked have generated some interest. I am sure some of your regular subscribers would be interested in buying the website ?

I wish you luck but there are only five posters on that forum with more than ten posts, at least one of whom I presume is you, and only five posts total in the last week, it's hardly a hotbed of activity.

I think if you eliminated every poster except me, Any Answers would still be more active, though of course it'd be entirely useless.

Nearly 10 months ago you said "i bought this VAT forum site some two years ago but due to other commitments, i cant find time to manage it."

Now you say that you "created (it) a couple of years ago" ... so which is it?

Not the best way to evince an honest 'for sale' notice - and as Duggimon says the site appears to be near moribund (as well as lacking his pithy punch-lines)!

WayBack Machine says early 2018. Nominet agrees.

I see you have upgraded yourself. Last year you bought it and this year you created it. What will you have done next year?

https://www.accountingweb.co.uk/any-answers/anyone-keen-on-taking-on-vat...

It generated a lot of leads that you didn't have time to cope with last year as well. Guess you need to update your profile then, which states you are looking for work.

I presume this is the first bid in a Japanese Reverse Auction?

A Dutch auction, I think. Your post caused me to Google Japanese reverse auction which is interesting: it's the same as a Dutch auction except it's one buyer and multiple sellers.

My bid: £0.009.

Quite correct - and a perfect example of the dangers of Google, in that initially I typed Dutch Auction ... then went to double-check on Google / was reading about the never-before heard of Japanese Reverse variant / got distracted by a phone-call / entered the wrong text in my posting. Just as well it wasn't a tax return!

Rather than the op possibly having short term memory loss on the origins of the site I am rather pleased to see that no one has felt a need to confess a passion for VAT.

"late lamented"? I did see them once, it was somewhere fairly anonymous (no, he wasn't there) in outer NW London.

To be fair the domain name might be worth something on its own.

Might not have a lot of activity but checking the serps there is a decent amount of backlinking so congrats to you for the effort you've put in it.

Thought I'd give a positive reply as others have been quite negative.
