Verschlimmbesserung

Verschlimmbesserung

Didn't find your answer?

The Consultation Document is available from HMRC for the proposal to change to cash accounting for very small businesses. It will cost the taxpayer about £300million for no real benefit. It allows accounts to be prepared on a sloppy and possibly misleading basis.' Verschlimmbesserung' means an apparent improvement which only makes things worse - rather like 'creeping featurism' in software programs! Why can't the people who make these proposals leave well alone (or is it to justify their jobs?)

In my experience 'Simplification' just means more confusion. VERDAMMT HMRC .

Where did you get the £300 M?

Just as a matter of interest, where did you obtain your costing of £300 million? Is this cost spread over several years or just one?

£300m cost

That is the year one estimated loss of revenue. Year two is a credit of £14m with further years being neutral
