VT Final Accs - TB Balances but not balance sheet

I have a balancing TB but in my detailed balance sheet it is out by the share capital amount.

Didn't find your answer?

Hi All,

It may be because I am looking at this late in the day (or extreamly early depending on your view point!) but my TB is perfect, I can't see any problems with the figures for the balance sheet or the P&L until I get to the detailed BS and it doesnt balance for my prior year comparison or my current year by the share capital amount of £100. I have been looking at this for over hour and I cannot figure out where I have gone wrong. Any suggestions or similar issues? Im guessing I am missing something straight forward but I have been looking at it for too long and I have hit a wall.

Help!

Thank you in advance.

And it doesn’t balance because share capital is £Nil in the balance sheet but £100 in the TB.? If so, just look at where the cell in the BS is looking for its figure, and correct.

No, that's the part I can't get my head around it has £100 in the TB under Bfwd share cap, and in the detailed BS it also shows share cap £100. However in the reserves an equity it counts it again. ?! It's as if it is double counting it. The frustrating part is that the comparison figures from last year are identical in the TB and last year the BS worked correctly but this year it doesn't. I am going to try the other suggestion below and see if I uncover a broken link. I'll let you know how I get on.

Thank you both for taking the time to give me a hand. Much appreciated.

Try this

go to detailedBS tab

scroll down to Capital and reserves circa row 54 micro entity

hover / highlight the cells for shares

it should have 100...……………. it will be blank in your case...….. meaning the TB £100 is LOST

The 100 entry from the TB! sheet tab feeds into this cell

so double click the ''blank ''cell in detailedbs tab

it will link you back to TB

now if there is a missing / broken cell sheet reference that will become apparent

The detailed BS tab figures feed through to the normal BS. check the link or details behind that cell too

just follow the bread crumb trail.

any missing or broken formula are easy to fix

As to why this happened?

You could just make a direct entry into the 'culprit'' cell

But I would not use that solution

Let's know the outcome

The get out of jail ruse is the manually overwrite the cell.

Invoice the client.

Then on 1st February 2019 revisit the puzzle …..

I've seen that where a cell has been manually adjusted +/- late in the day to avoid messing with VTT+

Remember that if you have done the auto copy of last year's actuals to become the comparatives, VT will also copy any manually adjusted cells too.

Look at the relevant cells - are they all formulae or are there any with a formula but with an added numerical adjustment (or even just a number, instead of a formula)?
