VT Transaction, MTD Integration to BTC Software

Anyone looked at this yet and had any quotes?

Didn't find your answer?

As a long time user of VT Transaction I, like so many others, was disappointed by VT Software's decision to not develop further their excellent book keeping software to include MTD filing for VAT from next year.  Having looked around for bespoke VAT filing software (I really don't want to give up on the VT product as such) I have seen that I can have a stand alone filing product from TaxCalc (whom I use for my self assessment and CT returns) starting from £75 (+VAT) for 12 clients up to £200 for unlimted.  Not totally decided yet on whether this is a good deal or not.  I've now come across BTC offering a tailored VAT filer product to work with VT and wondered if any of you had looked at this yet (either at Accountex or withn your practice) and if any of you had received details of pricing.  Would be great to find out what you think of the product too.

Haven't seen the product yet however BTC already has built in VAT submission as part of its PM Solution.

Personally have never used it and certainly didn't pay any extra for it.

Kinda hoping the VTT+ part will just be a simple "Paste from VTT+ MTD Export" button. Can't see any reason why not and on that basis kinda hoping it will be just included in their bundle.

See the various other posts on this topic. The gist I picked up from Accountex was that a few of the usual suppliers will be providing an MTD link to spreadsheets and VT etc. BTC have done it (though I haven't seen it) and I think TaxCalc and TaxFiler are planning similar. I think many software houses are not falling over themselves to rush things as they are half-expecting HMRC to do a u-turn.

Will be one solution although note for the pre MTD version the maximum price for unlimited traders was £96. Post MTD that will only cover you for ten traders. Above that the prices increase significantly:-

(although small in the context of cost per trader)

I presumed it would be free of charge. We use BTC AP and that interfaces with lots of packages - never occurred to me that if I can produce full statutory accounts feeding VTT+ into BTC there would be an additional cost for MTD filing. Having said that, I suppose there's no reason why BTC should provide MTD facilities free anyway. It would take an awful lot for me to move from BTC - I'm a great fan of it - but this may be a time to sit back and review everything. I was thinking of moving our secretarial work from First Corporate (which is very good) to BTC just to keep everything nicely tied together, but perhaps I should put that on hold for now.
