What is the best way to measure comission/introduction fees due?

What is the best way to measure comission...

Didn't find your answer?

Hello,

I have a price comparison website for a professional services niche. The purchase price for the products is roughly £10k-£30k per transaction, therefore people don't click through and purchase on the suppliers website (i.e. not like moneysupermarket.com), instead they tend to browse the supplier's website and telephone them to arrange a sales meeting. Therefore I am unable to set up a direct tracking system to monitor transactions that I am due a comission on.

Please could you give me your thoughts on the best mechanism to track and claim any comissions due?

Many Thanks,

S

Impossible

As you have no way of monitoring potential clients who contact your suppliers or how many of those actual go on to take a paid service it's going to be very difficult, if not impossible.

Are the contact details you list on your website unique ? If not then do you even know if clients are mentioning they came from you to suppliers ?

You could offer clients a percentage of your comission (a small one), if they tell the supplier they came from you and then show you proof they purchased a product.

Anonymise the site

You need to take out direct links to the external sites and remove the suppliers names.

Once your site has shown the best result for a particular client, they must register on your site and then you email the relevant supplier, so they record the introduction as coming from you.

Only way I can see of doing it.

A good idea but will only work if you get paid per introduction, if you get paid when the client actually signs up for a service and the comission paid is based on what they spend then you may have to rely on trust with your suppliers.

Silly question but do you have contracts in place with all your suppliers ?
