Monthly fixed salary submitted to HMRC on the 25th of every month. What would be the reference salary for any new employees claiming CJRS, the October salary was submitted to HMRC before the 30th October even though the period covers the whole month to the 31st October.

This is covered in the Kate Upcraft summary. Which I now can’t find but it was first in the Covid section earlier.

Here it is
My guess September
I vote September. It's the salary in the last pay period ending before. Your last pay period ending before 30 Oct was 30 Sept.
New employee no prior furlough - September it is.
Trust me I'm an accountant - and I watched the webinar this morning.

Agree September
I also watched the webinar this morning and was surprised at how many people attending weren't aware of the basics. Ie if employee employed at 19th March and on rti by that date too then it's the old rules for both reference salary and usual hours, whether they claimed furlough or not. Only new starters and those not on rti at 19/3 use new updated reference dates.
Quite reassuring in a way as I'm sure there are areas that we have made mistakes on.
