What is th"trustees fee allowance"?

Trustees are claimig this as a deduction from rent received

Didn't find your answer?

The trustees (a bank) are claiming a deduction for "trustees fee allowance" but this doesn't seem to be the fees they charge (which are also claimed).

Anyone got any ideas what this might be about? It would be useful to have some idea before I approac them on it.

It is probably an allocation of their trustee fees attributable to the management of the property.
Generally trustee fees are not tax deductible, but this presentation may be an attempt to enable the trust to enjoy tax relief on at least part of the fees charged. Are you sure that the rest of their fees are claimed, rather than being treated as a reduction of the trust income available to beneficiaries?
