When to submit RTI return for furloughed staff?

RTI return for employees' furloughed in March

Didn't find your answer?

If my client furloughed their staff in March but didn’t have the funds to pay them at the time, now they have the funds, should we put this furlough payment through their March payroll and make a correction to their March RTI submission or does it need to be accounted for in their April payroll? I can't get an answer from HMRC. Anyone else with the same issue?

I ran March as normal as most of my schemes had been done by the tie furlough was announced. I have made an adjustment in April if necessary.

Correct the March pay details and submit April's rti when it's due. No need to resubmit march.

i would resubmit March as if there is a payment query it might help. Does the final return just give HMRC confirmation of the totals or restate all the monthly figures as well
