Here i am, some time available to do P11Ds using HMRC Online Services, after the tax year end, before the deadline to complete and i am forced to deal with this sort of thing....

Normally i am quite resigned to HMRC tardiness in providing systems for a statutorily compulsory return, but as we dive headlong into a new digital age of MTD/RTI and using mobile devices to do accounts by merely taking a picture of a receipt, where log on requires a mobile phone for some unclear reason, and the man down the pub will be able to access his personal tax account anytime he likes to update HMRC i would have expected that the basic P11D form would be available by now.
Anyone have a clue when i will get a chance to do the return?

I heard that a cleaner had pulled out the HMRC computer plug so that a Hoover could be used. The last I heard was that HMRC were turning the computer on and off to try and reboot it.
I spoke to HMRC today, I have saved up the time from my lunch breaks since last Wednesday. They have a 'bottleneck of data' from the 12th it would seem. They seemed to be quite confident that it will be sorted, one of these days. I gave them the number of my old redundant chimney sweep, he'll get it shifted for them no problem.

And with MTD no bottleneck of data.
I've had my finger in the air to see which way the wind was blowing, and reckon that's more accurate than any deadline/update from HMRC.
Not sure if the seaweed reading works though.
I did ask that "as i am a customer" they log a complaint.
When I choose to buy a service from HMRC, I'll be a customer.
Until then, I'm not.
I've tried to submit to sets of client's P11Ds through the Gateway with my agent's login details. At the final re-enter of username and password I get an 'error' message and code to phone up HMRC. Did this today and last week.
I just logged in with the client's Gateway Codes and completed the process with Gateway codes and then submitted perfectly okay with their codes first time.
I know we mere agents are not supposed to have client's Gateway codes, but sometimes you just need them!

From my memory, the above is the normal message (with "Unavailable" showing) on the right hand side of the screen in green text. If you click 'Expenses & benefits' you then start the process of completing P11Ds.
My issue, with my agent account, is that I can complete the P11Ds, but I just get a error message on actually trying to submit the P11ds when I enter my username and password. With client login details, I can pick-up where left off, and actually submit the Form P11d.
Had the same issue with 3 companies and got around the issue 3 times with using client code / password. It appears companies can submit P11Ds, but agents are stopped.
Still showing as Unavailable - onto a different job!

What have you gone for ? Engine driver ? Firefighter ? Soldier?
