I have an general practice client with 10 staff who wants to change their software because it is not integrated. What do people use and why?
I have used Iris and Digita so do not need information on them. Has anyone used CCH?
Thanks in advance.

CCH Central does all that in one place: billing, time management, document management, AP, Tax Returns (Personal, Partnership, CT600), mail merge. It is not cheap, and the price will depend on the number of clients too.
You'd pay around £2,000 for a single user licence. I'm a one man band practice (no staff) and pay c £1,600 pa for Account Prep and CT600. Personal Tax is about another £800. I use HMRC website for personal tax.
As others have said, cost is per user, though not necessary a multiple of my single use licence.
I've used this software for 20 years. It's sold and robust, and plenty of customisation.
Special accounts formats e.g. farms, charities, consolidated etc is extra.
I think TaxCalc does all of those, but anything outside accounts & tax returns I’d be hesitant in recommending. Although TBF I’ve not tried their other offerings for a year-or-so, just didn’t think much of them when they did.
If you want 1 thing that fully integrates well, it’ll cost I’m afraid.
I'm looking at alternatives at the moment. CCH and TaxCalc were my two most likely options (moving from Iris). Get demos of both. If you want cloud then it will be TaxCalc. Personally, I preferred CCH from a customer service point of view and it seemed as though there would be fewer training costs etc on an ongoing basis so the price quoted really was the price.
