Who does this receipt belong to?

Who does this receipt belong to?

Didn't find your answer?

Client used to operate through a company that was liquidated late 2008. Client sets up new company, doing pretty much the same thing. Customer of both companies send remittance a couple of months ago that relates - yes, you've guessed it - to debts from both businesses. My client has obviously banked the whole amount, but what happens about the amount that relates to the old company? It obviously doesn't belong to the new company, but the old company has been completely liquidated.

Depending upon the answer/opinion, are there any ML issues?

Thanks in advance

Debt
Depends

Has old co been struck off? If so, money is due to the Crown. If not, it belongs to old company and it should make a return to HMRC and a further distribution.

Yes co has been struck off - that's going to be an interesting conversation! What if client refuses to pay? SAR? What if client says that he will pay, but just not at moment as not got sufficient funds?

It also looks like some money received before the co was struck off!
