Who is using Sage bank feeds?

Is it similar to Xero?

Didn't find your answer?

Are any practices using Sage bank feeds for their book-keeping? I have not used it thus far but the video I watched online (not sure if it is showing the latest updates) made it look fairly basic. It imported the transactions but it didnt look anywhere as slick as Xero?

Also, are there plans for Sage to bring in other options that the likes of Xero can offer such as importing pdf purchase invoices?

thanks in advance

Hi there - we offer free of charge direct and indirect bank feeds (Open Banking coming very soon!) in Sage 50cloud and Sage Business Cloud Accounting/Accounting Start - Bank transactions effortlessly flow into the software and automatically match to your transactions. If you don’t already have transactions posted, then you can create them on the spot, or use Bank Rules - a time-saving way to create regular bank statement lines for items that you haven’t yet created in the software. If you’d like I can set you up with a demo so you can test out the functionality - just contact me on [email protected] or send me a private message here and I’ll get you set up.

I have tried several times to get the bank feeds in Sage to work and failed every time after wasting huge amounts of my own time. There is nothing effortless about the process.

The bank blamed Sage, Sage blamed the bank I wasted loads of time and got no where.

Sage is 5 years behind the bank feeds in other cloud products, instead of waiting for them to catch up just move them to Xero or an alternative.

I wouldn't really count the feeds sage has... We moved to the now-extinct SBCFN on account of the feeds. A mere swift 7 months later they're functional. There are errors everywhere and if you have 2fa on your banking, you have to jump through extra hoops.

And the matching is not even half as good as Xero had when I last used it 10 years ago.

We've tested feeds in Sage, with the odd client, and they're pretty average. (We're Xero users and they are the benchmark). Other than bringing in the transactions there are none of the matching features present in Xero, so you have to do this, then go through the reconciliation. It does save time (if you can get it to work - Lloyds have a direct feed, everyone else behind) over a normal Sage, but as Glenn said - better to switch to Xero or QBO.

You can integrate with ReceiptBank and other such apps. There is no email in feature as Sage promote batch invoicing over this. Any API connected app to Sage is years behind the other cloud platforms due to the inherent limitations of Sage and their development to date.

If Xero is the benchmark I dread to see what other packages do. Thank goodness Xero doesn't automatically post what it thinks are good matches.
