Why are these old Zombie threads appearing?

Didn't find your answer?

There are at least two today which go back to the 00s and i have noticed a few over the past few weeks being resurrected with a comment/response.

Perhaps I have watched too much of The Walking Dead but should i fear the AWEB Apocalypse?

The 'improvement' to the site added this quirk.

There's no such thing as too much Walking Dead; great series!

It's a good question Democratus - and one to which we currently have no definitive answer. Our best guess is that they are surfaced by Google Search and people don't look at the date before replying (as in your first example), or are targeted by spammers (as in your second).

Either way, I've driven a stake through the heart of both threads so we won't hear from them again. Oh wait, steaks are for vampires aren't they?

Zombies - smash their head
Vampire - stake through the heart
Werewolf - silver bullet

Spammers ......?

Nuke them from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Why not close posts for comments after, say, 6 months from the last comment?

Sometimes I only think of a pithy answer 7 months after the question is asked...
