Why do we bother?

Why do we bother?

Didn't find your answer?

Client was due a tax refund so we requested it online and gave the client's bank details. After 2 months chased HMRC, who confirmed that the refund is being sent by cheque next week. The reponse I got to my query as to why it didn't go the bank as requested was "I don 't know, why does it matter you're getting the refund" Should I be grateful for miniscule mercies?

Maybe suggest to them ...

... that you will advise (on their recommendation) that all of your clients pay their CT by sending a cheque to Cumbernauld.  Presumably it "doesn't matter as they are getting the money".

With kind regards

Reminds me of...

... something I read on Martin Lewis's message board.  A house hunter asked their estate agent to find them a home with 2 floors and 3 bedrooms.  They were sent to an ideal property which they viewed and then called the estate agent with their feedback.

"It was perfect" they said, "except it didn't have any stairs, just a ladder to the second floor".

"So?" supposedly replied the estate agent, "you didn't say it had to have stairs".

I pray nightly that the story is true, it restores my faith in humanity...
