Hi all. I have just heard the new chancellor speak and he is already speaking a lot of sense in terms of cutting corporation tax.
I got a feeling he is the type of man to remove the horror of mtd...... just a prediction ...

HMRC have to reduce their head count whilst maintaining levels of tax compliance. Alas, MTD is not going anywhere, certainly for VAT, but there is a chance they might re-think MTDitsa as it'll cause more problems than solve.
* the new chancellor, you mean the same MP who claimed £5k on his MP expenses to heat his horse stables (before having to pay it back once he got found out), the same MP whose wife just happened to setup a medical company in 2020 to supply PPE at the start of the lockdown (since dissolved in 2021) and the same wife who purchased loads of property in Dover just ahead of Brexit.....oh yes, we're in safe hands :)

The richest guy in the cabinet in charge of the money?
I think it will be rinse and repeat of smile nicely whilst the little guy is fleeced.
Richy sounded great until his plans quickly unravelled on, I don't know indexed allowances one week, frozen the next. Oversaw the catastrophic loans bounce back loans scandal and not lifting a finger on MTD and refusing to increase CGT as it mainly impacted him and his mates who earn most incomes via gains.
The current government gets more like a corrupt banana republic every day.
Is this really the best talent we have?
Did anyone really expect anything better from BoJo?
Unfortunately the electorate (as a whole) created this mess - although to be fair it wasn't like there was a viable alternative considering the conservatives and labour both appointed leaders that nobody in their right mind would trust to run a bath.
