Will pay for help on VAT for small Amazon seller

Could you guide me on filing my first VAT return? I import goods from USA and sell on Amazon UK.

I will be happy to pay for one time assistance with filing my first ever VAT at HMRC online. I have registered VAT number and EORI number. My sales and expenses are pretty small and simple.

Total sales (VAT exclusive): GBP 3406.64

Income (VAT exclusive, VAT not included): GBP 2243.79

Expenses:

Charges by Amazon: GBP -1162.85

HMRC charged VAT for importing to UK: GBP -110.32

DHL shipping from US to UK: USD -193.95

I am located in New York, United States. I will pay you if you can guide me and hold my hand on how to calculate and fill boxes on HMRC website.

I have a few questions like:

Which reports should I download from Amazon UK?

Which numbers should I get from those reports?

What else should I use to calculate VAT return?

How to calculate numbers for VAT return boxes?

Your advice will be not legal and you have no legal responsibility. I will file VAT myself. We can communicate by email or Skype or WhatsApp or else. If you have experience with Amazon sellers and importing goods, this advice will take 30 minutes or less, I guess. Thank you!

This won’t work. I need to check your identity for money laundering purposes, write you a proposal, prepare and send you a letter of engagement to sign, a form 64-8 to act as your agent, preferably meet you, set you up as a client on our systems and then we can get to work.

You say that I will have no legal responsibility for my advice despite this being contrary to my professional and ethical obligations.

And then you want to negotiate a one-off fee based on 30 minutes work. Do you see the problem?

Andy - Depends how well you negotiate... an hourly rate of £1k/hr should cover the admin and your 30minute conversation.

Any student or fellow Amazon seller with basic experience will be OK. I will show my identity, business papers and access to my Amazon seller account if needed. Basically if you answer questions in my original post, that will be sufficient. Thank you.

Sure, no problem. Just send me your amazon seller account details and login, your bank details and online banking login credentials so I can verify the transactions in your bank account. I'll also need your name, address, email address, email password and your mother's maiden name.

Jim, it’s not that we don’t have experience with Amazon seller businesses.
As Andy said, we have to follow guidelines to comply with professional standards and money laundering requirements. It can take a couple of hours for this, plus time spent on engagement letters etc.
All of this means that you are not looking at a 30 minute job initially.
You may be better off looking for a competent bookkeeper on a pay per job website.
