Work Log Apps?

Didn't find your answer?

Can anyone recommend an app that you can log your work completed then action/tick it when invoiced?  I want something basic to keep track of work I have completed each day then check I have invoiced everything.  My practice has just significantly increased and I don't currently have an admin person.  Thank you for any advice given,

I've tried numerous apps and every time I've found things I don't like. I always return to an Excel file - I use it as a forward planner as well as an invoice reminder. It's easily customised and setting it up as a table means you can be specific about what you want to view.

Would be very interested to see if anyone comes up with anything that beats it! (or perhaps I'm just an Excel junkie!!!)

Thank you for your reply. I haven't found an app I like yet. I go back to form filling on spreadsheets I have designed myself.

Toggl might be worth a look - I only have the free version so I can't tick time to show it is invoiced. The paid for versions may let you do that.

I'd have thought you could adapt many / most of the ToDo type apps to handle this.

Take your pick there are lots of them (I'm currently using Toodledo). If you want a Kanban-style app, try Favro (although Trello is better known). The advantage of these is that they sync across multiple platforms, Mac, PC, tablet and mobile. Some, like Don't Forget The Milk, do have quite high monthly charges for an account but others offer free web access (or free for light users) and mobile / tablet apps are pennies.

For a different approach, try a simple database app (I'm using Memento on an Android phone). These allow you to create databases on a single mobile device (possibly with a cloud back-up) so you can configure them pretty much how you like - tick boxes, dates, memo fields etc etc. Would suit a slightly more technical user, perhaps.

Thank you for your reply. I didn't get far with Toodledo. I will try the others you have mentioned.

Personally, I use Trello as I much prefer the Kanban style to lists. Where more detail is required the links to Evernote and OneDrive are priceless.

At Octopus Blue we use Crugo. It's even better for tracking team tasks and also has great calendar and secure messaging functionality.

Karbon was created for accountants wanting to manage tasks. It looks beautiful and is very ease to use. I love that you can create tasks directly from emails.

Both Crugo and Karbon offer a list view if you prefer.

Please DM me if you would like to know more about any of these.
