Workbook disappears

Workbook disappears

Didn't find your answer?

The problem occurs in the control of the individual workbook within the opened Excel program.

If I press "minimize window" then the window becomes a tab at the bottom of the excel window. No problem.

If I press "restore window" then the workbook vanishes. ??  This is needed of course when I want to place two workbooks side by side.

would appreciate information so that when I press "restore window" the workbook window reduces in size and doesn't disappear from the Excel window.

Tile panes

I'm not sure of the issue, but could you not just tile the panes?

Excel
What version of Excel is this?
When you say vanishes, does the icon disappear from the task bar?

If not, the workbook maybe appearing but off screen.
Right click the icon and choose 'move', click somewhere in the middle of the screen. Use the arrow keys to move the Excel window to a visible area and hit 'Return'.

Try using "cascade windows". That might work.

Thankyou for your suggestions. I believe it is "off screen". It's not happened today but I have checked the "move" suggestion for future reference and it seems to be "greyed out". Is this because the windows I have are visible?

Move greyed out
Move may be greyed out because the window has been minimised/maximised. Use one of the resizing options first.
