Working Offshore based in the UK

Being a director of an offshore company and being self employed

Didn't find your answer?

I've been offered a role in a company based in Guernsey. They want to employ me on a freelance basis but I'll also be a director.

I don't have a ltd company so I'll be doing this by being self employed.

I'm based in the UK and I'm not sure if this is ok? What I found was that I can't be self employed and a director, so do I have to turn the role down?

I would suggest you go see a qualified accountant who can go through all this with you in detail.

One who understands the law in the UK and Guernsey or one for each.

You can be self employed and a director. What you can't be is a self employed director.

I read it as UK based work so would assume UK rules would apply
