Would VT be going into the Cloud?

Would VT be going into the Cloud?

Didn't find your answer?

Hello all

After finally being forced to start using Xero and QBO, by some clients, I can see the benefits of Live feeds and Bank Rules.  But that's about it. In everything else VTT is still way ahead.

I was wondering what other practicioners feel?   Would VTT (and other desktop packages) soon fade into oblivion?

Would VTT also consider introducing Live feeds and Rules?

Thanks

I'm old fashioned enough to want to keep all my records in my control, so I'll keep using VT (terrestrial) even if they do migrate to the cloud. When Doomsday comes (and it will) I'll be laughing.

I agree, I would encourage as many clients to stay on the land too! But I do appreciate why they are drawn to the Cloud ... easy access, 'work' on the move etc

Concur.

Doomsday arrived this morning for some, what with HMRC and FT and other major institutions having their internet down all morning.

And we're overdue for a solar flare, which of course would fry the cloud.

Just to add to my original post.. yes VT may not have all the fancy stuff, like receipt capture, invoice attachments to transactions etc, but it does the bookkeeping very well, easy to navigate and the Reports work very well.

I am not in a hurry to fly off to the cloud, but some clients are, so I do not have a choice.

Otherwise I would encourage clients to stick to VT.

Mostly they like the shiny reports when the app opens up so that they can flash it across the eyes of their mates/bank manager etc. They generally get bored of it, especially when there are price hikes and/or they find out they have managed to dump a whole load of fiction in there and I have to sort it out. So Ive found any way.

VT looks clunky, but there are ways and means of dropping bank info in so its quicker and its a great bit of kit. Cant see it disappearing any time soon.

I don't think VT mind too badly if you create a link to your client's £75pa VTT+ if you have bought your own agent copy (which is itself multi-company).

I will not use cloud accounting software as it almost never it has a proper backup facility, and so it is impossible to restore the last correct position if a client goes diy and messes everything up. I will stick with VT.

VT has its own market positioning and cost. It does MTD and has the universal input sheet so think it is fine as it is.
