Xero payroll correction

National insurance adjustment

Didn't find your answer?

Hi

How do you fix prior payrolls in Xero? I've looked at the help function but I'm a bit lost.

The issue I have is that an employee, who is also a director, was set up with national insurance type B instead of A. S, the July and August payrolls didn't calculate employers or employees payroll. I need to correct the payroll and submission to HMRC.

What you should do is to complete an EYU. You will almost certainly have to download HMRC's horrible "tools" software to do this. Be prepared to spend a good few hours working out how to use Tools.

Moonbeam - I think the OP is referring to the payrolls for July & August 2016, rather than 2015, so a 2015/16 EYU is not appropriate.

I am afraid that I cannot answer the OP's question as I have never used Xero payroll, apart from saying (as I have on the previous thread, 'Late notification of employee') that HMRC do not expect FPSs to be re-submitted to report the correction of errors on earlier payrolls - they are quite happy if you correct the payrolls and then, leave it until you submit an FPS for the current month as the YTD figures included in the FPS will correct HMRC's records.

Sorry - I read Prior Year, when OP was talking about Prior period.
