Xero report writer?

Is there a Xero report writer that can merge data from different tables?

I am struggling with Xero's out of the box reporting! Has anyone found a simple reporting add-on that will allow contacts data to be joined to invoice and payment data? Ideally cloud based but an Excel solution will also work. Microsoft Power BI looked promising but it can only access a limited set of Xero fields. Fathom looked interesting and has some good BI features but can't report a smaller timeframe than monthly, nor the level of detail needed, The only one I've found so far is the QWD  Excel plugin, which is good in that it can access most of the data but it takes a fair amount of work to produce a report having downloaded all the tables needed, joined the data and created a report. An example of what I am trying to achieve is to create a report showing amounts overdue or paid late by customers on 30 days terms which requires data from contact, invoice and payment tables.

Have you checked out the customer invoice report - it's basically a sales daybook but also shows on it date due and if it's paid or not (along with payment date).

I guess you'd then have to just play with it in excel a little to then filter it down to your two scenarios

Yes I've done that thanks, its one of the more useful "old" Xero reports. And yes I've been able to merge other customer data in Excel to more or less get what I need, but it is a bit of a faff.
