You can now see clients on Agent Services Account!

Has anyone else noted that you can now see your signed up MTD for VAT clients on the new ASA?

Didn't find your answer?

I know that many practitioners have complained about the new ASA not showing a list of clients that have been signed up by the firm with H M Revenue & Customs.

I have not read anywhere on AccountingWeb that this has now changed and that you can now see a list of clients signed up. I discovered this quite by accident.

From the first screen that you see once you have logged into your ASA, you should see ‘Manage user access to your agent services account’ at the very bottom of the page.

You should then be presented with three separate tabs.  The first tab shows clients!

I spotted this too and reported it on https://online.hmrc.gov.uk/webchatprod/community/posts/list/5639.page yesterday. I've noticed that it is not a list of all clients that I've signed up for MTD, it is only clients for whom a MTD VAT return has been submitted.

That's not quite it. I've got two people on there, only one of them has a return filed.

I think it's everyone you've set up in your MTD software, whether you've filed or not. It's not everyone you've signed up because we should have more than two, but we only have two set up in the bridging software.

If so that's quite the pointless list. It also doesn't give you any information on them, other than that they exist.

Ive set up 2 and have no one on the list!

Both Xero.

Might it be dependent on software?

Have you authorised them in your MTD software? i.e. set them up in it and had it direct you to the HMRC site to enter your login, from within the software?

Looks like HMRC have done half a job then.

It is a half job in that it just shows the VAT number and not the business / company name.

Doesn't show any other information. Still best to create your own BTA for each client (as if you are the client). Makes a mockery of so called security and agent logins though.

All 9 I have enrolled into MTD so far are on there though, none missing and none have had returns filed as first MTD returns are for Q/E 30th June.

EDIT:
I still have the issue (as posted previously) with 3 of the enrolled clients that do not have VAT quarter dates showing in their BTA and therefore my MTD software does not sync and is showing an error code.
HMRC assured me it would be fixed on Tuesday gone, but it wasn't and they have now gone quiet.

We've filed one MTD return with QBO and 10 with Absolute. All 11 appear in our ASA list.

We've signed up another 100 none of which have had anything filed and none of them appear on our list.

The list displayed is of VAT numbers only. There is a user editable field for agent reference. The user has the ability to allocate clients to users but there is no further functionality: we don't see any client names, addresses, no VAT returns, payments, registration certificates etc.
