Zoho - worth considering?

Zoho is becoming popular internationally, and have released a UK edition of Zoho Books, but do not seem to be on the radar. It would be good to hear from accountants who have worked with the platform and how it compares on functionality, support and price.

I had never heard of it but it looks interesting. The problem for me is that the market is not mature enough, too many suppliers jockeying for position. I don't want to be the accountant who is wedded to a latter-day Betamax.

I had a prospect who uses Zoho and wants to stick with it because it integrates client accounts with other areas.
I am not chasing him too hard as I don't fancy learning any more bookkeeping software right now.

Quite. 20 odd years ago clients who used software at all tended to be in the Sage camp or Quickbooks. Nowadays everyone is using something different.

The something differents boil down to supporting invoices journals and bank recs. So they are all the same in the middle really, the good old ledgers. The interest lies in what's offfered around the core. Zoho actually looks quite good but they don't market heavily into the UK, nor do they seem to have boots on the ground here.

I noticed they were promoting the concept of double-entry bookkeeping!

Good to see they’re bringing something new to the market.
