Architectural Association settles accounting scam

The Architectural Association (AA) has settled legal action against its former finance manager who it accused of exposing the school to huge liabilities in an accounting scam over leased office equipment, Building Design magazine reported.

The AA pinned the blame for its problems, which it admitted could cost up to £5.5m – more than double its spend on office equipment over a normal five year period, on Steve Livett who it started legal proceedings against last year.

But the legal action has now been dropped and a settlement, the details of which remain confidential, has been agreed between the two.
