Chantrey Vellacott seals London pub deal

Administrators at Chantrey Vellacott DFK have sold the assets of a London pub company after running the business since it folded in mid-January.

Despite the gloomy high street outlook, cheap supermarket booze and concerning pub closure figures, the Antic pub chain attracted “significant interest” since it went into administration.

Gregarious, a company formed by Max Alderman with backing from funds managed by Downing LLP, bought the assets and leaseholds of Antic for an undisclosed sum, securing the future of 12 pubs and more than 200 jobs

Last month joint administrators Richard Toone, David Oprey and Kevin Murphy from Chantrey Vellacott stepped in and managed the sale process.
