Winning a £150,000 software overhaul sounds like a dream come true for most businesses.

However, for the winner of software house Greentree's GAME ON competition that saw 10 finalists battle it out in a public vote for that exact prize, it meant that little bit more.

Voted for by the public, charity Concern Universal scooped the fully installed software makeover, which will help them help people in need in Asia, Africa and South America.

The charity intend to make their new system accessible to their staff across the globe and they say having real-time visibility of their projects worldwide will revolutionise their work.

Concern Universal’s systems and services co-ordinator Vivienne Mair said: “The benefits will be huge. Having our data all in one place and being able to see it proactively won’t just benefit the UK office, it’ll benefit people at a country level too."

The prize includes £75,000 worth of Greentree software, up to £50,000 of implementation services and up to £25,000 of cloud hosting over two years.

With Greentree's prize, Concern's project managers will be able to manage their projects more effectively. The software will also simplify the compiling of reports to donor organisations, which is important as since the demonstration of sound budgeting and funds delivery is essential to secure future donations.

Greentree's managing director Harry Mowat praised Concern's entry and said all 10 finalists were top quality, with a "staggering" amount of votes being cast in the competition as a whole.

“The judges were absolutely won over by Concern Universal’s proven track record of efficient management and effective distribution of funds to people in need. They knew what Greentree could do for them, they clearly demonstrated the benefits it would bring and they rallied that vital public support. It was a fantastic effort.” he said.

"I was proud to be working with our terrific judging panel and whilst the quality of the entries made our job quite tough, we all cherished the task of whittling the list down to the best entry. It’s great that it’s been won by an organisation that does so much good," he added.

Concern thanked those who voted for them to give them the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

“We try to give people who live in poverty a voice and we’re just so grateful for what our supporters did on behalf of those people living in poverty who couldn’t vote for us," Viviene concluded.
