The pricing strategy of modern airlines is almost as complicated as the fare structure of our national rail network. Passengers can be confronted with a confusing array of options, without knowing what theyre really paying for. Working out what value youre getting can be a time-consuming business.

It has to be said, airlines arent stupid, and there isnt a huge transparency in flight comparisons. Understandably, airlines will often refuse to compete for flights to the same destination from the same airport.
