AccountingWEB business editor Dan Martin reports on the strange - and rather more traditional - goings on at this year's Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) annual conference.

As a journalist I've had my fair share of surreal experiences. Ranking highly on that list is my participation in the final seminar at the ICAEW's annual conference earlier this week. My day at Chartered Accountants' Hall finished with me stood on a newspaper with controversial ICAEW chief executive Eric Anstee.

How did such an incident occur I hear you ask. Well, it happened like this...
