Web portal to help SMEs win government contracts

In an attempt to encourage SMEs to bid for public sector contracts, the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) is launching a web portal which will help smaller companies both identify and bid for projects with a value below the listing threshold for OJEU (the Official Journal of the European Union.)

The OGC says that it is also trying to encourage larger companies to use the site to alert smaller providers to possible sub-contracting opportunities, in an effort to increase the transparency of tenders, and broaden access to public sector contracts.
