Business intelligence and data visualisation specialists PARIS Technologies and XLCubed have collaborated on a new web-based planning and reporting tool that lets users collaborate over the Web on plans and reports work within Excel.

The new XLCubed Web Edition lets users create business plans and analyses that look like normal Excel spreadsheets, but are based on data contained within the multidimensional PowerOLAP database.

The XLCubed Web edition is a browser-based portal that gives users a dashboard of reports that they can analyse and update using Excel commands. The reports also support in-cell Sparklines and the company's other visual aids.

PowerOLAP integrates with a number of database systems including Microsoft SQL Server and maintains a dynamic connection to the underlying data . It can work not just with Excel spreadsheets, but also Google, Crystal Xcelsius or any other web-based client system.
