On the first day of Christmas, AWEB gave to me... The Community Awards 2020!

As this unforgettable year draws to a close, AWEB would like to take the opportunity to inject some stress relief into the holiday season and celebrate another year of our thriving community with the return of our AccountingWEB Community Awards.

After so many readers nominated members of the community on an Any Answers thread for the Accounting Excellence Awards, we thought it was time for a Community Awards comeback.

This is our chance to raise our glasses to all of the committed members who keep the heart of AccountingWEB beating. Here’s to many more years of sharing your knowledge and goodwill across the community.

So, who do you think deserves to be celebrated this year? Who’s strived to share their wisdom or brighten up those grim work days on Any Answers? Cast your votes below - you could be the one to take home the crown!

The winners will be announced just in time for Christmas.

The 2 December also marks our Accounting Excellence Awards ceremony, which is taking its virtual debut in light of social distancing measures.

As with previous years, the awards will be split into several categories, which are as follows:

  • Comedy Award: Those witty readers who made the heavy threads a bit lighter.
  • Technology Champion: All the people who have helped you with insights into PCs, data security, practice tools, cloud accounting, mobiles and other tech issues.
  • Tax Whiz: Those readers who came to the rescue in the most taxing of times.
  • Thread of the Year: What’s been the most memorable thread of 2020?

There will also be a Member of the Year Award based on the highest number of thanks recieved throughout 2020.

Good luck!

Can we have "worst spelling" I have that one in the bag.

And "rudest poster" for which there is a high number of candidates

and "liking your own post" award for certain members who's posts always carry 1 like!

Of course the "Stupidest question of the year" award is a foregone conclusion......Anon........ has outdone themselves this year.

"Liking your own posts" award could perhaps be branded "thanker of the year" (for its rhyming slang if nothing else).
