Cost Cutting Measures

Hello folks. You may have seen from my AA post, I am looking to cut our support costs.

It is because, my client numbers have gone down, due to my absence from the practice for the last three years.

The downside has turned into an advantage. It forced me to look at other options. The Panda Doc option has turned out to be considerably better at a significantly lower cost.

Over the week, I will be reviewing to replace Accountancy Manager. Sadly, having reviewed, TaxCalc (TC) Communication Centre (CC) it has just not gone far enough in its development.

The current key weakness of CC is it is not able to send out automated email reminders more than once on the same topic. For example:

  • Just after the end of the VAT quarter  Reminder 1
  • 14 days after the quarter-end Reminder 2
  • 30-days reminder after the quarter-end  Reminder 3

I will look at TC as a practice management tool without using  CC.  I do not have any intention to leave TC as a whole. It is very good for accounts production and tax returns.

I will also review moving from Adobe Esign for tax returns and accounts esgining. It will save me a monthly sub of Adobe Esign. Also, I think the functionality of Panda Doc is better for esigning. Though, I will undertake a detailed review of this aspect next week.

Last week really was the first week, I returned to the office properly after 3 years.

BTW it would be good to read blogs from other accountants without their brand attached to them. When a brand is attached, it is just not possible to write freely.

Hi FirstTab, watch this space for CC at TaxCalc, they are developing it.
I am interested to hear how you use Pandadocs and if you have looked at the GDPR bit. I am still confused on how this will be viewed by the accountancy bodies. For example the ACCA says do not use Whatsapp as they store data on US servers.

Personally i have just taken AccountanycManager only for engagement letters as it can be very quick, otherwise i am not impressed.

Hi SE confused

Thanks. AM for Engagement letters is very costly.

Panda Docs complies with GDPR https://www.pandadoc.com/gdpr/

Just get the ELs and create templates on Panda Docs. After the setup (take your time), it will take you minutes to send ELs.

It took me time since I wanted my branding included.

Thank you , will definitely have a look
Does pandadoc allow dynamic text where they inset the client name (or other variables such as dates) in various places etc, to save me updating this in each document? (or on separate pages)
