I saw a quote on Twitter yesterday from Venus Williams that said ‘if I go onto court and I think the other person is better, I’ve already lost.’ It made me think of the psychology and the confidence that a person must have to compete. Some people are deemed to be arrogant, but I think it’s a mind-set that if you go into a situation where you want to come out on top you need to be in the right frame of mind.

We work with thousands of small businesses and we have always said that if you meet with potential clients and you are trying to get new business that you need to be passionate and confident that you can come out of a meeting with a positive outcome. If you can’t be positive and passionate about what you are selling, whether it is a product or service, then how can you expect your potential customers to be excited about your product and service?

Give it a go, next time you have a business meeting, go in with the mind-set that you are confident and passionate about the product or service that you are selling. I assure you, positive thinking and an assured delivery will be a successful combination.

Let us know about how you prepare for your business meetings.
