A new avenue for Practice Excellence

AccountingWEB global editor John Stokdyk introduces a new weekend ebulletin catering for practitioners who want to explore the cutting edge of practice development and growth.

Now in its fifth year, AccountingWEB’s Practice Excellence Programme goes from strength to strength.

The nominees for 10 categories in this year’s awards have been announced, and registrations are now open for the innovative online conference taking place on 24-27 October.

The community of members interested in these developments now amounts to more than 4,000 and to keep them up to date AccountingWEB is adding a new bulletin to our weekly line up. To avoid filling your in-boxes with an extra email during the week, this edition will be dispatched every Saturday morning.

The format of the Practice Excellence ebulletin will differ from the usual AccountingWEB messages. It will be shorter and more graphical, and focus on longer articles exploring different components of Practice Excellence, from effective marketing techniques and referral strategies to cloud tools and new management techniques.

A lot of these topics interest practitioners beyond the UK , reflecting the profession’s increasingly global outlook. For this reason, the Practice Excellence ebulletin will occasionally feature items from our US sistersite, AccountingWEB.com. In this week’s edition, you can read about how a panel of American practice experts responded to a question about pricing at the recent Sage Summit in Chicago.

If you think a colleague or fellow accountant might be interested in the content, feel free to share the bulletin around. Anyone who is a registered AccountingWEB member can get it for free by ticking the relevant box on the “Email preferences” tab on their user profile (To get there, log into the site and then click your name in the small green box at the top right of the page).

AccountingWEB’s Practice Excellence Programme has evolved into a loose, online self-help group in which practitioners share their ideas and experiences for expanding their firms, improving client service and enjoying more fulfilling professional lives. While the bulletin will keep you informed on a weekly basis, the next big date in our calendar will be the 4-day virtual conference in October.

Let us know what you think of the latest Practice Excellence initiatives and I look forward to seeing you around the site in the coming months.
