In a moment of weakness I agreed to put together a short video covering the software we use in our accountancy practice. It should be particularly useful for accountants just starting in practice or who previously relied on the HMRC tools that are now being withdrawn.
My deadline was to get it completed before I take a 5 weeks holiday, and the video is now ready together with a FAQ giving the contact details of the various software suppliers mentioned and answering a few other questions that have come up in conversation. Two days to spare, but I can go away with a clear concience!
The easiest place for us to host it is on a platform we will be using for a couple of courses we have under development so I had to create a token price and then a 100% discount coupon code to go with it! Just follow the link from bit.ly/TLA_Software and click on the 'enrol' button. Don't worry - you won't be asked for card details although you will need to put in your email address.
The first 10 minutes or so mainly covers the basic compliance software and the remaining ten minutes or so covers other software we rely on.
A word of warning - it's NOT a training video otherwise it would be several hours long. What is does do is introduce you to the software we have chosen as the best fit for our practice. Some of it features highly or at the top of the software satisfaction awards but I'm certainly not holding it out as the best software available. What the different packages do though is play nicely together and make our compliance work straightforward to handle.
I hope it helps those of you searching for a good fit at an affordable place.
