An audit trainee at Loughton-based chartered accountants Haslers has scooped Unqualified/Trainee of the Year at the 2014 AccountingWEB Practice Excellence Awards.

Andrew Murray's outstanding academic record impressed judges, along with his motivation, clear and realistic vision for the future and having his bar set high for his future given his wish to become a CFO.

He was also praised for his “astonishing” exam results and his success in leading audits.

Chris Jones from Tolley, one of the judges, said: “I think we’re all singing from the same hymn sheet. He has realistic visions, a plan, knows what he’s doing and is achieving his objectives.”
