ACCA Registered Auditors support network

Any members interested in setting up a support network?

As an ACCA member who is still a Registered Auditor, I am very concerned that there is little or no support from ACCA on audit issues.  All we seem to get is very harsh audit monitoring.

The new FRC rules from March 2020 make it even harder for small firms to maintain their audit registration.  I have no idea if ACCA made any representations about the new regime and its effect on its members, and I am concerned that ACCA UK appear to have no interest in promoting/supporting  its auditing members.  The clear road ahead is that all audits will soon be exclusively preformed by larger firms, most of which will be  ICAEW.

Having recently been through my latest audit monitoring visit, it is clear to me  - from the attitude of ACCA  - that practitioners will need to look to themselves for proper help and support.  I have discussed this with a  number of ACCA members recently and they all agree with my views about the poor state of ACCAs help.

So with this in mind I was wondering if any ACCA members feel the same way and if it would be practical to set up a support network to help on audit matters and in fact any other matters that are not being supported by ACCA ? This could be online, whatsApp, local meet ups for coffee etc etc?

Please contact me if you have any comments or any ideas on this!
