BrightPay wins ‘Payroll Software of the Year’ at 2018 Software Excellence Awards

BrightPay was announced the winner of ‘Payroll Software Product of the Year’ at this year’s AccountingWEB’s Software Excellence Awards. 2018 was the biggest year yet for AccountingWEB’s Software Excellence Awards, with a record 12,930 votes cast across all categories.


It’s a great achievement for BrightPay to win this prestigious award, especially when considering the number of larger software companies offering payroll. Unlike most of our competitors, we offer a payroll product that is automated and cost effective for employers and payroll bureaus alike.

This year saw BrightPay achieve the top spot in the payroll category when shortlisted against Moneysoft, Xero Payroll, Capium and The Payroll Site. BrightPay also has a 99% customer satisfaction rate, and is used to process payroll for over 120,000 businesses across the UK and Ireland.

Over the last year, our team of developers have been working hard to make BrightPay better than ever. This year, the primary focus has been on BrightPay Connect, our optional add-on product to BrightPay payroll software.

BrightPay Connect offers our customers online functionality to improve the payroll and HR process even further. The payroll is still processed on our desktop BrightPay payroll application, but the payroll information is automatically and securely backed up and stored in the cloud.

In recent months, the development team have been focusing on one of the most anticipated features yet for BrightPay Connect, which involves the ability for payroll clients to enter employee payments, additions and deductions or upload employee timesheets through their BrightPay Connect bureau/client dashboard. Furthermore, payroll bureaus can seamlessly send a payroll summary to their client before the payroll is finalised for the client to approve the payroll run through their secure portal.

This client payroll entry and payroll approval features (coming very soon) enable bureaus to reduce the time needed when processing payroll, while putting the onus on the client to ensure the payroll information is 100% correct before the payroll is finalised.
